About
The University of Northern Iowa (UNI) has remained a Gold status Military Friendly Institution for five consecutive years. UNI became the number one small public institution for providing much-needed resources and support for student veterans, spouses, and dependents which continues that legacy today. The Veterans Center is open to all and serves as a safe space, where one can take a break between classes, complete homework, unwind from the stresses of school/life, or build camaraderie with fellow service members who have served this great nation.
The campus has a UNI Veterans Association (UNIVA) which supports programming and events on campus and collaborates with other student groups and external military and veteran organizations.
