University of Northern has remained a Gold status military friendly institution for five consecutive years. UNI earned number 1 small public institution in past years for providing much-needed resources and support for student veterans, spouses, and dependents, and continues that legacy today. The Veterans Center is a safe space. A place to take a break between classes, complete homework, unwind from the stresses of school/life, or just fellowship with others who have served this great nation or want to learn and support those that have served.
There is also a UNI Veterans Association (UNIVA) student organization open to all students, which supports programming and events on campus and collaborates with various external military and veteran organizations and other community and student organizations.

Please feel free to contact Henry Korf if you are interested in attending UNI, or have additional questions, at 319-273-3040. Email is henry.korf@uni.edu or military@uni.edu.

Our role is to support military members, veterans and their families at UNI as they transition between military duty, college and new careers. We are committed to faculty and staff education, on and off campus resource networking, advocacy, and listening to each student to ensure that each military affiliated students' voice is heard and they are empowered to achieve success in class and beyond.
