In partnership with UNI Counseling Services, UNI Student Disability Services, UNI Wellness Center, and IA Vocational Rehabilitation Services UNI Service unit, we are sponsoring the Inaugural Statewide PTSD Awareness Conference.

This conference will cover PTSD that originates not only from military experiences but also sexual assault and other traumas. We will have presenters covering topics such as mental, emotional, and academic support for those who are suffering from PTSD while in a college environment, different types of therapy including service dogs as well as art and music therapy. The conference will conclude with a student panel covering how PTSD affects students' day-to-day college career.

This conference will serve as a way for students to learn strategies for overcoming their PTSD as well as a conduit for college and university administrations to better serve their students who have been affected by PTSD.
